East African Safari Digital Camera For Safari?

Digital Camera for safari? - east african safari

Looking to buy a digital camera for my safari in East Africa. These cameras are a little on the expensive part, so I have a digital camera. But the choice of one is very confusing. What is needed, ideally, expand a safari to shoot some good photos? 8x I would not be enough. What about mega-pixels? Can someone me a digital camera in the R. 15,000 (315 USD)? Thank you in advance.

I was not an African safari. I had a good amount would be very useful telephoto. DSLR can beat compact digital cameras, but also the price-performance ratio, it is a price in weight and volume.
Among alliances, it appears that some candidates:

Panasonic Can I think about having the right profile. The shoe and the articulation of the LCD Canon not be particularly useful in this situation. The slight advantage of the Panasonic image stabilization and the reduction of chromatic aberration can be useful.

There are offering a class of cameras called super-zoom cameras that many of the functions of the reflexes, but not the costs. Most of detachable lenses are not the target that come with a limited. Among these is the cheapest, which is very popular with the Kodak EasyShare Z1012 IS. This is a 12-times zoom, 10 MP, and costs about $ 250.

You get people who complain about Kodak, but according to Consumer Reports reliability Kodak is by far not the best. Their result is not sufficiently substantiated, but an overview of more than 275,000 players.
